Welcome to Class 1

We are a mixed class of Reception and Year One children. Our class 1 teachers are Miss Ashley who teaches Monday to Thursday, and Mrs Battrick who teaches the class on a Friday. They are supported by our teaching assistants who are Mrs O'Dowd and Miss Pegg.

In class 1 we have PE on a Friday. Please dress in your P.E Kit each Friday instead of your school uniform. We will also be doing the daily mile each day so please ensure your child always has a warm and waterproof coat as we will go out whatever the weather.

Every Thursday afternoon we attend our on site forest school where we take part in various forest school activities with Mrs Battrick such as campfire cooking, shelter building and playing in the mud kitchen. Children should come into school in their uniform and bring their Forest School kit to change into, with an empty carrier bag for muddy wellies.  Please ensure that all bags are clearly labelled with your child's name. 

Homework is due in each Monday and should be posted on Class Dojo. For the first half term the children have a half-term project in addition to spellings, reading and maths work. For the second half term, pupils will continue with their spellings, reading and maths work. Remember that reading every day is part of the children's homework. Pupils are rewarded with Class Dojo stars for their rockets and can choose a small prize when the rocket is complete. If your child does read regularly at home, they will be entered in a prize draw each half term to win a book.
