Computing
Here at Woore Primary and Nursery School, we recognise the importance that computing has in the lives of our children. Both at home and in school, ICT is integral to their daily lives. That is why we believe that it is of the utmost importance that our children are given the tools to succeed and stay safe in a digital world. We use Teach Computing as the basis for our computing programme of study. This allows us to deliver a high quality curriculum that meets all our needs and gives the children the opportunity to experience a range of skills, including coding, spreadsheets, databases and animation.
Through computer science, we will teach the principles of how digital systems work and how to apply this knowledge through programming. As children progress through our school, they become more digitally literate when using information technology to create their own content, systems and programmes. Our children will use information and communication technology throughout the curriculum to develop their own ideas and as a way to express themselves, ensuring that they are ready and have the skills for our ever-changing digital world.
It is a priority at Woore Primary and Nursery School that all of our children understand how to keep themselves safe when using a wide range of devices and online platforms, as well as communicating online, at a level which is appropriate for them.
