A World Book Day in Class 1

World Book Day!

We have had a fabulous time in class today finding out and exploring the books we have in school, as well as listening to different types of stories. We began the day with a fancy dress costume competition, it was a really difficult choice for Mrs Ward and Mrs Field!

After that we explored (with Saplings) the books available in school, the library, our book corners and the outside book box too! Then we were all given a list of things to find. Year 1 children had to find 15 different things and write down where they found them - they were looking for things like witches, surprises and a picture of a frog. Reception chidlren had 6 pictures to find in books and the Saplings chidlren all had one picture to find.

We also explored the differnet ways you could listen to stories, stories told to you by an adult, a video story on teh whiteboard, a story that was sung and a story with no pictures.

The children acted out their own stories using all of the different resrouces in class 1.
