Sowing the seeds...

This week in Class 2 we have been sewing seeds.  We have a mixture of broad beans, mustard and cress on the bookcases in the lovely spring sunshine.  We are hoping to answer the question do plants need soil to grow?  To test this we planted some seeds on wet cotton wool and some in soil in pots.  Most of the class predicted that the seeds in soil would grow best.  We are now on day 7 and as you can see from the photos, we are seeing lots of growth.  We will continue to observe the seeds over the next few days and see what happens next!
