New Library Leaders!

This week Donna Taylor (Shropshire School Library Service) came to visit a group of our children who had made applications to become a library leader. From the applications, 6 enthusiastic children were chosen to become our new leaders.

Donna has been training the children on how to look after the library and categorise and order the books, using subject indexes and working their way around books in general. The children are now well trained and equipped to manage the library on a weekly basis. Their roles will include:

  • Tidying the library shelves
  • Returning books to the correct places
  • Putting up displays
  • Preparing and stamping new books
  • Signing out pupil books
  • Supporting other children to find their way around the library
  • Helping with book weeks
  • Training new library assistants
