Cross Country Kings and Queens!
Yesterday, the 17th October, we made our annual trip to The Grove to take part in the Market Drayton area cross country competition. We were blessed with wonderful weather, especially considering the rain of the previous day! We were represented in races for every year group from Y1 to Y6 and all the children in these years took part. This fact makes me amazingy proud as some larger school take their six fastest, keenest runners. We all had a go. Success for some of our children was completing the course, for others a top 5 finish wasnin their sights and for the majority of our children somewhere in between these were suitable ambitions.
Along with some amazing running as a team we also displayed remarkable teamwork and solidarity. Every runner was cheered and applauded as they past us, every child was greeted as a hero on their return to their friends. It was wonderful to see.
Well done to one of our Year 1 runners for coming 2nd, two of our Y3 runners for their top 10 finish and our Y6 boy for coming 7th. Year 1 came 2nd overall in their event, so well done to them!
