World War 2 @ Woore

Date: 25th Oct 2024 @ 2:54pm

In Class 3 this half term we have being historians and learning about the events that occured during World War 2. We have discovered the main key events and significant figures that helped to shape our modern society. We learnt about the Battle for Britain and how our country fought back against the German invasion. Linking to our book this half term, we wrote letters as evacuees to our parents to explain how we felt and our experiences. We learnt about women's role during the war and created propoganda posters to support civilians during the Blitz. Finally, we had a former member of the RAF come and speak to our class about their experiences and gave us a little more background information about the types of planes and what it must have been like to fight during the war. We have really enjoyed learning about this aspect of history and have a better appreciation for those men and women who made sacrifices to keep Britain safe.
