Temperature investigation in the forest

Date: 10th Jan 2025 @ 5:26pm

It has been so cold this week that we decided to find out exactly how cold it is!

We used our new dataloggers to explore the forest and find the lowest and the highest temperatures that we could. We found the coldest place was beneath some ice in the shade, and the warmest place was next to the campfire!

Some of the older children worked out the range of temperatures that we recorded, which was an amazing 68*c! (It was -2*c under the ice and 66*c next to the fire!)

We are looking forward to repeating our experiment in the summer and investigating the difference that the seasons make to the temperatures.
