Taking a global view
Date: 11th Nov 2018 @ 7:12am
This week we were proud to take part in the school's short remembrance service. The class have been working hard on some art work to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armistice (and also to reflect our work on the war, we have been doing). We have left 10 of the art pieces with St Leonard's, so please look out for them.
Our Science and Geography topics have been focused on the world; how we map it, and how we now know that the earth is round(ish). We had great fun finding cities in the atlas (no, we really did!) and then looked at a range of evidence that tells us the earth must be a sphere.
In maths, our work in fractions continues. We are going to be moving on to decimals and percentages, and money is a great way of exploring these concepts, so if you could help with making these links in your daily lives that would be really helpful (eg. 20p is 20% of a pound, is 2/5 of a pound, is 0.20 of a pound etc)
You should have received you r child's report on Friday, if there are any concerns before parents' evening, please come and see me, or send a message on ClassDojo.
