Settling In!
Date: 27th Sep 2022 @ 5:12pm
It seems amazing but we are already half-way through the half term. The children have settled back into their class routines really well. Mrs Battrick has joined the staff this year and has already made an impact in the classroom- the children are loving their World War 2 topic and are already looking forward to our trip to Cosford later in the term.
In Maths, we have been embedding our number and place value knowledge. The children have shown great understanding of two, three and four digit numbers. We are moving on to addition and subtraction in the next few days.
Swimming is a big part of this half term, and I have been incredibly proud of the effort the children are putting into their swimming lessons. Once more we are working with the children towards obtaining the ASA School Swimming Awards - badges to be handed out soon!
I am pleased with the progress the chidlren are making with their handwriting. I can see really determination to make their work as neat as possible. Thank you to all the parents who supported their children with their summer diaries: I can see that just ticking over through the holidays has made a big difference.
Finally, we are very lucky that Mr Butler from Shropshire Music Service is with us on Wednesdays to help us with our music lessons. To link with our theme of World War 2, we are learning about swing music.
