Roamin' Romans
Date: 1st Apr 2025 @ 4:57pm
We are coming to the end of our work on Ancient Rome and I have to say that the children have been wonderfully interested in evrything we have covered, from Roman soldiers and the Boudicca uprising, to eating dormice and escpaing from Pompeii. Over the past few weeks, the children have written about life in Roman times, explored artefacts, researched facts and much more! Our work has culminated in our trip to Wroxeter City to learn all about life in what was once the fourth largest city in Romano-Britain, and home to the same number of citizens as Pompeii!
All along, the children have supplemented their learning in class with extra studies at home and this was seen to its fullest extent in the wonderful homework projects that were shared before half term. In art, we have painted pictures and created mosaics of Pompeii.
In writing we have used the text of Escape from Pompeii by Christina Bailit, to write our own stories and support our grammar and punctuation learning.
It has been a pleasure to share in the children's enthusiasm for this exciting topic and thank you to parents for their help and support too. Bring on the Egyptians next term!
