Reading the Game

Date: 12th Apr 2024 @ 2:03pm

Wednesday saw the start of Year 3 and 4's new football based literacy scheme, 'Reading the Game'.  We were delighted to be joined by NeilHomer from Shrewsbury Town Football Club who came for the first of 6 visits this half term.  The scheme uses resources from the Premier League and other football organisations to encourage reading and literacy.  It has been 6 long years since Neil was last with us but the children quickly made him welcome with their excellent readiness and respectful attitudes.  the second half of the afternoon session was spent outside practising some football skills.  The weather was kind and even agreed to stop raining for a while!  At the end of the session, Coach Neil was happy to award George in Class 3 and Maisie in Class 2, players of teh week awards.  Well done you two!
