Rainforest Weather Forecast

Rainforest Weather Forecast.

During Geography, we have started our topic on rainforests. This week we have learnt that rainforests are found in between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and are clustered around an invisible line called the Equator. Our focus was to be able to describe the climate in the rainforest, we learnt the difference between climate and weather and compared our weather and climate to that of the rainforest.

Did you know that in the rainforest there are no seasons?

As its name suggests in the rainforest it usually rains every day. In Class 2 we thought this sounded very much like our climate here in the United Kingdom but were able to see the differences when we looked at the temperatures! It is very humid in the rainforest or as some of our Year 3s described it “hot and sticky.”

We then used our new knowledge to work together in groups to script and perform our own weather forecasts for a day in the rainforests.

Safe to say we might have some meteorologists in the making!
