This week we have been looking at fractions in our maths lessons. Year 2 have been finding halves, quarters and thirds, whilst Year 3 and 4 have been finding fractions of amounts and even adding and subtracting fractions. THis is oneo f those maths topics where it is really clear to see an everyday use and application, and is definitely something that the children can enjoy exploring at home. I find pizza and chocolate are good ways to do this!
In English we have started to look at the story of Androcles and the Lion, and we are going to attempt to retell this myth next week. In History we are studying aspects of being a Roman soldier - and we have even learnt some word in latin to help to us!
Talking of languages - in French, we have learnt the months of the year and how to ask when someone's birthday is (see this blog's title!).
Next week is a busy week. We have our stay and make session on Monday, where we are making bags to fit our Roman Bullae (please pop in if you can any time after 1:30). And on Friday we have the Bikeability team coming in to work with us. If you have any questions about Friday, please ask.
