Gimme Shelter
Date: 23rd Sep 2018 @ 6:27pm
We have spent much of this week imagining what it would be like to have to spend the night in an Anderson shelter. This has led to some excellent creative writing and, on Wednesday and Thursday, us having a go at building one - albeit out of card! The children will be bringing their Blitz Backyards home this week.
In Maths we have thought about mental methods for addition and subtraction - ways of working out answers quickly and without writing anything down. We will be looking at written methods next week - column method for both.
Preparations continue for Thursday's netball competition at Market Drayton Junior School - with Mrs McBride coaching the children and going through tactics.
It is Forest School this week - the weather has turned cooler (and wetter) so please make sure that you send the children in suitable clothing. Thank you.
One more request; we are seriously low on space in the Class 3 cloakroom. Can you make sure that children do not bring more equipment and clothing than they need. A lot of space is being taken up with bulky rucksacks, which are just not necessary. The children can leave their PE kits in school, and all they need really, is a small bag for a reading book, reading record and any letters going home. I'd really appreciate your help with this, as the school looks untidy and, with bags on the floor it is also not safe. thank you!
