D&T in Class 2

Date: 3rd Dec 2019 @ 9:29am

This week we began work on the frames for a stone age rafts.  This meant learning new skills and working with new equipment.  We used set squares and steel rules to mark out our 1cm square timber.  Then, we used a junior hacksaw to cut to size.  After sanding each piece, we used card corner strengtheners glued to the corners to make sure our frames were as strong as we could make it.

The next step will be to put a surface on our raft that is capable of holding a stone for us to float, just like the builders of Stonehenge!
