Class 2 8th September
Date: 10th Sep 2023 @ 9:33am
Wow, what a first week! Class 2 have hit the ground the running this term! It was lovely to welcome all 18 of Year 2, 3 and 4 children back in to Class on Wednesday this week. Even though we have only had three days together, I have already seen some wonderful handwriting, beautiful atrtwork, superb maths and had some really interesting questions that we have had to delve into!
We have spent some of this week getting prepared for our Harvest Festival in a couple of weeks' time. We have been looking at the parable of the feeding of the 5000 to inspire some writing and artwork. This will continue this week. In maths, we have started working on place value and understanding the worth of each digit in a number. We have also been practising spelling these numbers in words.
We started work on our Tudor topic on Friday and I was really impressed with the class' prior knowledge and eagerness to know more! We started by learning how the Tudor family became monarchs. We will be sending out details in the next week about our upcoming Tudors trip to Stafford - which will be very exciting!
The children enjoyed a lovely first session in Forest School with Mrs Battrick and Mrs Wicks and we also managed to start some rugby, just in time for the World Cup! We practised our passing and catching!
