A Wonderful First Week!
Date: 6th Sep 2019 @ 4:51pm
We have a wonderful first week in Class 2. We have begun work on our Stonehenge topic, with a look at what life was like in the Stone Age and we have started to read Clive King's 'Stig of the Dump'. We are using the character of Stig to help us to create our own characters - which sound fantastic so far!
In Maths we have looked at place value, deciding what each digit in a number means and represents. Year 2 are doing this with 2 digit numbers up to 100, whilst Year 3 and 4 are looking at 3 and 4 digit numbers.
In PE we have been practising our throwing and catching skills with a netball.
Finally, Mr Butler came to our class to lead our music lessons. We are very excited to be starting these and next week we are looking forward to meeting our ukuleles for the first time!
Please pass on my thanks to the children for what has been a great start to our academic year. they have worked so hard and may be very tired!
See you next week!
