Modern Foreign Languages

At Woore Primary and Nursery School, we aim to provide our children with an opening to explore another culture. The children learn early vocabulary and skills in French.  We foster children’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world through our MFL scheme of work. Children will have the opportunity to express their ideas and thoughts in another language, beginning with basic vocabulary through thematic approaches. As children progress through the school, they will develop their conversational skills to enable them to communicate for practical purposes effectively, both in written work and verbally. Our children will acquire, use and apply a growing bank of vocabulary in a range of different contexts. Children in KS2 will receive regular language lessons to ensure their knowledge is embedded and built upon in a logical manner.
