Class 2 2019 - 2020

Mr Davies

Welcome to Class 2.

We are a mixed age range class of 20 children. We have 8 Y2s, 8 Y3s and 4 Y4s.

Our teachers in Class 2 are Mr Davies and Mrs Mason on a Friday morning.

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Booth every morning from Monday to Thursday and Mrs McBride who joins us on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

Sport

Our P.E sessions are on a Thursday afternoon with Steph from Activ Sports and, for this half term, a Monday afternoon. Please make sure your children have their P.E. kits (named) in school all week, just incase any of our sport sessions change or we have extra P.E.

On Thursday afternoons we have our Forest School lessons where Mrs Booth leads the children in their activities. Amongst many cross-curricular activities, children practise making shelters, learn how to use knots to join sticks together, make paint from natural materials and learn about plants as well as experiencing self initiated play in the mud kitchen. Please can you ensure your child/children have the appropriate waterproof, warm clothing and wellies (all named).

Homework

Homework for the first half term is a project based around our topic of Stonehenge.  We also have weekly Spelling Shed activities to help us prepare for our weekly spelling test and a MyMaths task.

We would also like children to read with an adult at home at least three times a week. Children will earn a star on their reading rocket every time they read at home with an adult.

Children should bring a named water bottle with them each day and a coat, as we move into the colder weather.

Thank you,

Mr Davies
