Signs of Autumn and Winter

Date: 21st Nov 2019 @ 9:06pm

The children in class 1 have been busy learning about the seasons. They have been out and about looking for signs of Autumn in the school grounds and have been learning about how the cold weather affects animals.

The year 1 children learnt all about how a robin adapts throughout the year, how he finds food and how he keeps warm in the winter. Children in reception have been making model hedgehogs and have been learning about how they hibernate during the winter.

Last week we went on a village march to share our anti-bullying posters with the people in the village. Whilst we were out we visited the war memorial at St. Leonard’s Church to lay the poppy wreath we had made in class. The children found out why we wear poppies at remembrance.

Our work on the Christmas play has begun and we have been busy learning the new songs and acting our parts in the play.
