Learning the recorder!

Date: 22nd Oct 2021 @ 11:44am

This half term we have started to learn to play the recorder!  It is early days and we are still getting to grips with this deceptively simple instrument.  We have so far learnt how to hold the recoder and to make 7 different notes.  We are now much better at blowing gently but consistently to get those full rounded notes.  We are trying not to have leaky fingers!  You may be delighted to hear (or not!) that the children have taken their recorders home to practice.  I've attached the songs that I've sent home and the finger places for each note.
