KS1 Curriculum

A revised National Curriculum has been followed by all schools from September 2014.  At Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) this includes the following subjects:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Science
  • Art and Design
  • Computing
  • Design and Technology
  • Geography
  • History
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Religious Education

Within our setting at Woore, KS1 children follow a long term plan over a two year cycle. Common themes are developed termly across the school which link in with our long term planning cycles.

Children within Year 1 work closely alongside Reception children to ensure cohesion within the class 1 base.

Children in Year 2 work closely alongside Year 3 and 4 children in the class 2 base where the lower KS2 curriculum is also studied.
