We are travellers through space and time!

Date: 25th Nov 2018 @ 10:07am

Thank you so much for those of you who were able to come to Friday's assembly; I hope it gave you a taste of the wonderful World War 2 work that we have been doing this term.  The children looked magnificent in their 1940s get-ups, thank you again for your support - there will be a gallery on the website shortly.

It was apt, dressed as we were, that our science lesson involved The Doctor (Doctor Who for those not keeping up!), as we learnt about the solar system how light travels from the sun, in a really fun lesson that was live n the BBC website.  We danced, we orbited, we passed light through each other (sort of), and a fantastic time!

In what has been another busy week, the hockey team of Maddie, Sam, Ava, Toby, Isabelle and Tom represented the school with real pride and determination on Thursday.  We played three matches, wining one and losing the other two (to Longlands A and B), but with each game it was clear to see the confidence and skills growing - well done!

In other PE news, this week we took part in our first Virtual Competition.  This is organsied by a company called The School Run, and helps us to meet one of our personal challenge targets for the School Games Award.  Class 3 took part in a shuttle run, tennis ball throw and standing long jump competition and their results are then pitched against other children's results from all around the country.  I was really impressed with the competitive spirit shown and Travis, Ava and Finlay all received medals for their effort and high scores!

Next week is busy as ever, as we get nearer to the Christmas Season.  It's Forest School on Tuesday, so please have the correct kit - it is getting cold down there!
